Halfway between the Adriatic Sea and the mountains of Abruzzo, nestled on one of the highest hills in the valley between the towns of Controguerra and Torano Nuovo, in an area of Teramo particularly suited to the culture of the vine, is home to the winery, which has been family-owned for generations.
The company was founded in 1949 in a small town in the mountain community of Gran Sasso at an altitude of 415 meters, Isola del Gran Sasso D’Italia. It is in this area, included in the National Park of the same name, that today three cousins, Lidia Mario and Antonio, run the family oil mill. The passion inherited from Grandfather Antonio already leaks out in the field, where the three partners passionately dedicate themselves to the cultivation and management of olive trees, taking care of their pruning and every agronomic phase of the family’s plantings.
Marino Melarangelo, a third-generation painter, born in 1974, a graduate of Teramo High School of Art and the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, lives and works in Teramo. His painting, close to the Anachronism movement, develops around figuration with a thoughtful and ironic edge and with a predilection for inanimate objects and elements, numbers and letters.
